exquisite history {ex:hi} Exquisite History {ex:hi} is an ongoing collaborative
project emanating from the University of Virginia printshop. ex:hi
involves nearly thirty artists and writers, a whole lot of art making,
the issuing of a series of three books modeled after the 1493 Nuremberg
Chronicles, and three corresponding art installations. The first
of the three, The Land of Wandering is structured after the
book of genesis. It considers our origins- the beginning or becoming-
and sets up recurring human narratives. The second, The New World,
will be personal and historical reflections that will lead us to
into the present. The Third, The Gates of Heaven, then, will
encompass visions and proposals for the future.
